At SERVPRO of North Sacramento, we believe it is vital to know as much as possible about the water loss in an effort to provide services immediately. Education and information are provided to our customers by completing a walk-through of the affected property and identifying priorities with the best approach to help in their particular situation. We provide information such as how many levels of the property are affected, approximately how many areas are affected, and what was the water source. In addition, we advise the property owner with helpful tips to help them know what to do until a crew arrives. This process ensures all project parameters and our client's requirements are addressed before an emergency action plan is developed for our customer's approval.
SERVPRO of North Sacramento crews are trained water loss professionals and are confident when previewing a loss site and providing a consult with our customers. They listen, emphasize, and offer immediate solutions to fit our customer’s needs. During the initial Inspection/Walk-through of the property loss, it is important that our customers explain how the loss occurred, if they know. Our Project Manager will take photographs as the walk-through is conducted. We take great care in capturing "BEFORE" photos to document the conditions at first arrival. We believe it is helpful to explain to our customers how affected areas are located with a moisture meter or a thermal imaging camera and explain the actions we take to resolve a water problem. We believe it is important to listen to our customer's concerns and help them through the normal anxieties they will have about the restoration of their home or business. Often, their primary concerns may be particular structural materials, personal belongings, or just the overall time and cost around restoration efforts. During this walk-through, our Project Manager will begin assessing potential safety problems and watch for indications of mold contamination. An effective walk-through will identify customer priorities, safety hazards, affected areas, and general service needs. Additionally, restoration challenges or other project limitations that would affect the completion of the project are recognized.
The walk-through will give our Project Manager a good understanding of what areas are
affected and what materials and/or assemblies are affected (what is wet and how wet is it). This information is carefully reviewed with the customer, followed by a plan of action for their loss (e.g., containment, demolition, drying). We will ensure our customer understands what we plan to do and why. Once the customer understands the plan for water loss remediation, a preliminary scope and required steps will be taken by SERVPRO of North Sacramento to begin a productive and efficient process to return our customer's business to preloss condition or better.
