Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

We Restore Damaged Apartments in this North Sacramento Complex

Restoring a North Sacramento property after a disaster is not always as simple as the owner might like it to be. With situations like fires, properties can experience effects ranging from the acutely damaged elements from the spread of the fire to secondary effects from firefighting efforts like water and mold damages. You can see in this video how a single incident can spread to affect multiple adjacent properties simultaneously.

Through our inspection when our experienced SERVPRO technicians arrived at the apartment complex, we quickly determined the full scope of the work that needed to get done and got to work with our mitigation steps to protect the contents of affected properties from further damages. The largest concentration of fire and water damage occurred in four apartments within the structure, but several more suffered smoke damage as well that would need to get addressed before we completed our restoration process.

With the fire spreading in two upstairs apartments, firefighting efforts affected both of these units along with the apartments directly beneath them with water damages as well. Within a week, these units also faced mold-damaged elements that required our professional remediation services as well. To resolve this hazardous situation, our technicians on site had to construct physical containment around these affected apartments and remove materials down to the framing and studs. Before this demolition could begin, the property had to get thoroughly inspected for potential asbestos as per California regulations.

In the video, you can see the physical containment to prevent the travel of mold spores to new areas of the apartment building, and the original framing for the units exposed after drywall and flooring material had gotten removed. We utilized negative air machines to aid in improving the indoor air quality through trapping mold spores and particulates in the machine’s HEPA filter.

Our experienced SERVPRO team worked around the clock to restore these units to their original condition. While the situation became three disasters in one, we have the tools and highly-trained personnel to handle any size restoration emergency.
